| I went up to the 'Parc Guell' on Friday, since I was alone for the day. It's one of the few truly quiet spots in Barcelona, I thought. You can buy nice souvenirs with the colorful benches you see in the forefront - design of Gaudi, I think. | |
| The 'Sagrada Familia', the only church of its size in Europe which I saw still under construction. They're still building it I guess a lot of people in Barcelona feel somewhat ambivalent regarding this church. I guess it shows, if you build something big enough, no one can really stop it anymore. The building is proceeding according to schedule and is funded completely by the tourists, I was told. | |
| 'Casa Mila' (a.k.a 'La Pedrera') A house designed by Gaudi located in
the middle of the city... I didn't take the tour though. I think, I was too tired from the night before. Upate: in June 2002, I finally took the tour. It's pretty interesting, I recommend it. You can see how the upper class lived 100 years ago. The architecture inside is quite nice. Good on a rainy day.
