page 1 - Milwaukee
My 'homepage' wouldn't be complete without a page or two from home.
For those of you web-minded people here is the
Official State website.. The
City of Milwaukee also has their own site. However there are
other more interesting pages like the American
Movie official web site, still going strong 6 years after the film came out (as of Aug. 2005). So anyways, I went through some of my old pictures and here is what
I came up with.
| Here's the skyline of Milwaukee, as seen from Lake Michigan. The tall building with the unusual white beams is the 'Firststar Building', with 40+ stories the tallest in the city. (I have to ask someone exactly how many stories it is.) In fact, I don't know the downtown area that well to be able to identify most of these buildings, which is a shame, since I spent about 20 years of my life near this city (always living in the north or west side). Maybe I can find out for you later ... | |
| Corner of North and Humboldt Ave., near UW-Milwaukee on the East side. I drove past this spot lots during my days as a graduate student at UWM. My friend Dele lives on this block. And PIZZA MAN is not far (1/4 mi to the right, down North Ave). Also there is a good gyros place next door to it . I always liked the falafel there. Man, I get homesick every time I look at this. |
