Pictures of the Cabin

Cabin as seen from just inside the yard boundary. The "old" and "new" sections are easy to recognize in this picture View from the lake looking towards the cabin and behind it Lassack Road. I have just brought in the "indian" canoe from a productive day of fishing. Total catch: 1 15-inch bass. View of the lake. It was actually a nice day, but I had my camera's light setting turned down too far. Somebody with a ridiculously powerful boat is cruising in the background. Fall picture from 2002, taken and labeled by my mother.
Cabin shown in the "full of winter". This is the view from Lassack Road. This picture is from Dec. 2004. Christmas weather in 2005 was dull and dreary, unfortunately. I didn't make it up. Winter shot of the cabin looking from the lake. The walk to the lake to fetch water gets quite tiresome. Just kidding, there is running water. It just takes forever to get it working in winter. Only Dad knows how to do it, and there are no decent instructions. I think you have to first prime the water pump by pouring a driblet of water into some valve. Then you can actually start the pump, and by turning severl levers just the right way, get water flowing into the water heater. I once called this the American Gulag. I actually enjoy drilling holes in the ice, in a kind of masochistic way. Just don't ask me how long it took ... We removed a fallen tree from the border between our property and the Stein house on the corner of Lassack Road during Christmas 2004.
